Kerala Box Office Update (15.1.23)
1. Malikappuram - 22.67 Cr (16 days)
It beats the huge Pongal releases to take back the top spot from Varisu on Saturday, collecting more than 1.75 Cr yesterday. The Pongal weekend was expected to be won by Thalapathy Vijay but the families are flocking in for Malikappuram as the Unni Mukundan starrer replaced the biggies in many theatres. It is all set for another big Sunday with it most probably breaching 2 Cr today. It will go past 25 Cr worldwide today and now the eyes are set on 30 Cr and rest depends on how it will be affected by Mammootty's Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam from Thursday.

2. Varisu - 7.92 Cr (4 days Kerala)
Despite a good day 1, the negative reviews almost sealed the fate of it in Kerala as it still needs another 5 Cr for breakeven and it has only Sunday left to cash in and will most probably end up close to Beast's final collection. Back to back disappointments for Thalapathy in Kerala.

3. Thunivu - 2.82 Cr (4 days Kerala)
Although it went past Valimai's final collection in Kerala, Thala and Manju Warrier couldn't impress Kerala audience and may end up collecting under 4 Cr. It still needs another 2 Cr for breakeven which looks almost impossible now.
BELOW AVERAGE
4. Avatar 2 - 38.52 Cr (30 days Kerala)
It continues to pull in a fair amount of audience even it's fourth weekend and slowly inch towards 40 Cr.
BLOCKBUSTER
5. Ennalum Ente Aliya - 1.07 Cr (9 days)
It somehow passed 1 Cr mark but it is nearing the end of run. It couldn't post a challenge to Malikappuram or the Pongal Releases.
