Kerala Box Office Update (29.2.24)
1. Manjummel Boys - 50.21 Cr (7 days)
Much like today's date, Mollywood has seen a rare occurrence, a phenomenon that occurs once in a blue moon with our own Malayalam cinema ruling box office as other industries are yet to get their engines started in 2024. People and trade analysts were already shocked with Prema-yugam but Manjummel Boys and the storm it has created has really left everyone stunned. Manjummel has lived upto it's hype and it's gigantic numbers of 22.29 Cr from Kerala in first 7 days is the testimony to the unanimous acceptance. But the biggest surprise is the way this movie has dominated Tamil Nadu box office and is currently the No.1 movie in Tamil Nadu with raining housefull shows in Chennai and the praise from big Tamil stars will only help this film in the coming weekend as there's hardly any competition except a Dune: Part Two. So, a bold prediction, most probably this film will be the 4th Malayalam movie to cross 100 Cr ...Mark my words...
Kerala - 22.59 Cr
BLOCKBUSTER
2. Premalu - 72.98 Cr (20 days)
The dream February started on 9th of this month with the romantic juggernaut this movie unleashed and still despite two other movies creating havoc at the box office, Premalu had it's 19th consecutive day where it's collections in Kerala went past 1 Cr. Telugu version of the movie is releasing on March 8, which promises of atleast another 5 Cr from Telugu circuits. And the Kerala total is inching close to 40 Cr and atleast another 10 Cr can be expected from Kerala too. Overall, the movie seems to have long legs due to its genre and the movie is sure of atleast hitting 90 Cr worldwide.
Kerala -38.58 Cr

3. Bramayugam - 53.22 Cr
Although it has settled for third spot, it's not a bad thing to happen in this dream February. It became the first black and white movie to gross 50 Cr in India. The huge budget has dented it's chance of being a clean super hit despite the 50 Cr club entry. As of now, it has given up the competition with Premalu and Manjummel Boys as daily collections have dropped to less than half of Premalu daily. It looks to finish somewhere close to 60 Cr.
Kerala - 21.32 Cr
HIT
4. Anweshippin Kandethum - 16.24 Cr
It's run has almost reached end and it looks to finish just shy of 10 Cr in Kerala. But the movie also has the bad fate of being the only big film to flop this February. The makers also got unlucky with its competitors performing above expectations at box office. Overall, Tovino's wait for solo hit continues.
FLOP
5. Family, Thundu and other films hardly leave a mark at Kerala Box Office.
