Kerala Box Office Update (8.1.23)
1. Malikappuram - 8.11 Cr (9 days)
It continues its glorious run with the support of families as it added another 1.5 Cr on its second Saturday and Sunday is going to be even bigger and it would most probably cross 10 Cr from Kerala alone. The movie has also started well in other Indian markets and GCC as well. Although the overseas numbers aren't available yet, it has most probably added another 2 Cr from overseas circuits as well.
Kerala - 8.11 Cr
Overseas - 2 Cr (approx)
HIT
2. Avatar 2 - 36.47 Cr (23 days Kerala)
It continued to bring in audience even in its 4th weekend as it moved towards 37 Cr. It has three more days before Varisu and Thunivu takes away the big screens from it. Thus 40 Cr looks tough from here on.
ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER
3. Ennalum Ente Aliya - 0.40 Cr (2 days)
It jumped up well on Saturday but overall the movie remained below average and with big films all set to take over from next week, it will find it tough to get past 1 Cr.
POOR OPENING
4. Djinn - 0.33 Cr (2 days)
It also showed a jump in its collections on Saturday but couldn't muster enough to drive itself to safe zone. It has very days left at the box office.
POOR OPENING
5. Kaapa - 17.87 Cr (17 days)
It slowed down as Malikappuram took charge at the box office and now it is struggling to get to 18 Cr in its third week. Despite having a clear mandate over other Christmas releases, the movie couldn't capitalise that advantage and one week later, it lost that advantage to Malikappuram too.
Kerala - 12.42 Cr
ABOVE AVERAGE
