Kerala Box Office Update (4.2.23)
1. Romancham - 0.47 Cr (Day 1)
It gave the much needed cheer to Soubin Shahir bot critically and commercially as it opened the best among the new releases along with good word of mouth. If the word of mouth converts into footfalls, it could become Malayalam's first hit this year. After a disastrous 2022, Soubin seems to have finally got his charm back. It is expected to collect close to 2 Cr in the opening weekend.
AVERAGE OPENING
2. Pathaan - 10.84 Cr (10 days Kerala)
It became the highest grossing Bollywood movie in Kerala surpassing Dangal which held the record for last 5 years. Although 15 Cr still seems far, it has definitely has given new hopes for Bollywood in a state which has not been a big contributor to its revenue.
SUPER HIT
3. Malikappuram - 48.35 Cr (36 days)
It added more than 30 lakhs even on its 36th day which is a great achievement and another weekend means it will again register good numbers thanks to unanimous word of mouth and it will mostly go past 50 Cr this weekend. It has also registered close to 10 Cr in overseas markets. In Kerala, it is slowly moving towards 40 Cr and may soon go past lifetime collection of Vikram and may overtake Avatar 2 in the coming days.
Kerala - 36.05 Cr
BLOCKBUSTER
4. Iratta - 0.24 Cr (Day 1)
It opened to good word of mouth but couldn't muster a good day 1 number but will hope to jump up over the weekend but it will have to face tough competition from Romancham, Pathaan and Malikappuram.
POOR OPENING
5. Vedikettu - 0.20 Cr (Day 1)
It posted a decent day 1 number considering the star cast and low release. But in the coming days, it will need a great improvement in collections to stay afloat.
BELOW AVERAGE OPENING
6. Thankam - 4.76 Cr (8 days)
It had a decent first week but it will still need another 2.5 Cr to become a clean hit which looks ighly unlikely with a lot of new releases impressing the audience and with Malikappuram and Pathaan holding well.
Kerala - 3.70 Cr
BELOW AVERAGE
7. Momo In Dubai - 0.05 Cr (Day 1)
It's fate has almost been sealed on its first day itself.
