RDX getting closer to 50 Cr, Jailer benefits from King of Kotha's dismal run

Kerala Box Office Update (2.9.23)

1. RDX - 38.54 Cr (8 days)
It continues its rampage at Kerala box office as Onam season slowly coming to an end. It produced its second best day yet on day 8 and it is going to roar on similar levels on both Saturday and Sunday and thus cross 50 Cr mark by Monday easily. Post Onam season, it will face a major threat in Jawan next week but in all probability hold a good number of screens and could overtake Romancham to become second highest grossing Malayalam movie this year.
Kerala - 25.84 Cr
SUPER HIT

2. Jailer - 56.71 Cr (23 days Kerala)
If any movie has benefitted the most from the failure of Onam releases except RDX, it has to be Jailer. It has emerged as a favourite second choice for families as it continues to post healthy numbers even in its fourth week. Although 60 Cr maybe tough with Jawan arriving but it has definitely set a high benchmark for Leo to beat.
ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER

3. King of Kotha - 35.94 Cr (9 days)
Yesterday saw it surrender even its lead in worldwide numbers to RDX . Besides a small jump on Thiruvonam day it has been a downhill ride for DQ starrer and in Kerala, it collected close to half of what Jailer did yesterday and thus with new releases, it could be an early return from theatres for the king. The one day advance release kind of saved the film from complete embarassment as still a big chunk of collections came from day 1. It seems it will not have the luxury of Odiyan which crossed 50 Cr despite negative reviews, but 40 Cr finish would be a relief.
Kerala - 14.59 Cr
DISASTER

4. Ramachandra Boss & Co - 4.09 Cr (8 days)
Another Nivin Pauly film bites the dust and now it is not even a surprise to the market and only time will tell whether the once crowd-puller would ever return to his past glory. The film is just waiting for the new releases to come and end its run.
Kerala - 3.36 Cr
DISASTER

Meanwhile Voice of Sathyanathan and Oppenheimer continue in few screens adding little amounts to their totals.
