Kerala Box Office Update (11.2.23)
1. Romancham - 9.20 Cr (8 days)
It took back its top spot at Kerala Box Office easily beating Christopher as it collected more than 1 Cr on its second Friday. It will most probably cross 10 Cr from Kerala today and the release in overseas markets this week will further push it towards 15 Cr worldwide total. It is all set to cash in on the Valentine's Day week with Christopher getting negative word of mouth.
Kerala - 8.95 Cr
HIT
2. Christopher - 2.52 Cr (2 days)
After an average opening, it suffered a huge drop on day 2 as it collected below 1 Cr yesterday along with losing its top spot to Romancham which has almost sealed its fate. After a great run at box office in 2022, Mammookka's fortunes have turned upside down in 2023 with both his releases this year failing to take off at box office. With a huge budget of 20 Cr, Christopher may end up as a big disaster unless it pulls off an impossible feat from here.
BELOW AVERAGE OPENING
3. Spadikam 4K - 1.74 Cr (2 days)
As one of the most iconic Malayalam films returned to theatres, the audience gave it a sensational welcome as it collects close to 1.75 Cr worldwide in 2 days. It also has become one of the highest grossing re releases ever in Indian cinema. The 4 day weekend total will most probably cover the cost of re releasing the movie.
SENSATIONAL RESPONSE
4. Malikappuram - 51.97 Cr (43 days)
Into its 7th weekend, the film still continues to draw audience, making it one of the longest running Malayalam movies in recent times. It is now within touching distance of 40 Cr from Kerala which is a rare feat. Currently, it is the third highest grossing Malayalam movie of 2022 behind only Bheeshmaparvam and Hridayam. It has one more weekend to maximise its collections before its digital release.
Kerala - 38.67 Cr
BLOCKBUSTER
5. Pathaan - 12.62 Cr (17 days Kerala)
It has slowed down in its third week, but the records it set in Kerala will be tough to beat for another Bollywood film.
SUPER HIT
6. Iratta - 1.62 Cr (8 days)
Despite the good word of mouth, the super success of Romancham and a big flow of releases denied it from registering good numbers at box office.
